As a fan to the old continuity (G1 series), during the Revenge of the Fallen I was thrilled to have one of my favorite bots in it: Sideswipe. What I wasn't prepared though, is that in the Movie version of ROTF was the fact they had a different set of twins.
So what happened to his real twin Sunstreaker?
As apparently, no one knows.
Hence the reason why my main character in my fic ended up being Sunstreaker.
While there have been numerous fics about him and Sides tagging along and even some cases where he's there too, many of them have female OCs that are their 'companion'. No offence to those who like OC slash but I'm not really into the mech love human thing. It's fun, but after reading God knows how many fics like it, I got REALLY bored. And since actions speak louder than words, POOF! I avoided about going all angry and go flaming other authors or made a fanfic to counter the rest hurting other authors (a.k.a. the troll fic)... and made my own fic that I had with my own ideas.
The main Bots for 'A Twin for a Twin' are:
Race: Cybertronian (Mech)
Position: Front-line Autobot Warrior
Alt-Form: 2010 Lamborghini Superleggera (originally)/varies as the fic goes on.
As what?: Protagonist (Good Guy)
The original character of Sunstreaker is bot with what many of us think he has issues. Who wouldn't be when even in the main TF Wikia he's described as:
having sociopathic tendencies, combined with his incredible vanity and arrogance, usually result in tension between himself and the other Autobots. He is generally unwilling to help those who are having trouble keeping up, and is quite audible when it comes to complaining about the shortcomings of everyone else. The only Autobot he truly gets along with is his twin brother, Sideswipe, and even that can seem strained at times.
As much as he values only himself, the main love that many fans have always liked was the deep connection he has with his twin Sideswipe. He may not like to show it in front of others, but inside he cares much the same for his brother. The main thing that really made me interested in making him the main character was that I haven't seen any other author in the TF Movie section try to explore his character as the main lead.
If anything that should be the same, I'd say in the fanfic his bi-pedal (humanoid) form resembles Sideswipe's movie form just to make it simple. The difference? Perhaps color. Sunstreaker isn't just 'Sunny' without his yellow color. XD
I don't see him getting along well with humans that don't share any traits with him. So what happens if there was a human who has a similar sentiment with him? And if that human was the only key to find his twin brother because of the worst circumstances? That's what you get in 'A Twin for a Twin.'

As What?: Protagonist (Good guy)
This is basically Sideswipe's form in the movie. Originally he was red Lamborghini in the G1 series. But all in all, he still looks cool for his sleekness. Considering this form mostly focuses on speed and getting the job sufficiently, I'm not really complaining.
Most of his characteristics of being a rash young warrior is still there (thankfully) and even his 'eager to prove himself' attitude is there, much like in the G1 series.
In 'A Twin for a Twin', he's been separated from his twin for a long time because something happened during the Battle at Tyger Pax. The not so good news? It's affecting the bond-link he has with Sunstreaker and causing health problems which makes him unstable with his emotions. More unlucky for him, our not-so-favorite NSA Director Theodore Galloway takes interest to uh... *cough* insult *cough* Sides. The result? Sideswipe's in trouble for attacking a human official.
The verdict for both of these characters? A separation fic. How will they reunite?

As What?: Antagonist (Bad guy)
Ah yes... a villain to have in a fic. While many feel that Megatron and Starscream are the big baddies of the TF fandom (mostly), in 'A Twin for a Twin' I had to go for Soundwave. Why? Basically because perhaps amongst all the Decepticons he's the most emotionless of them all.
Most loyal to Megatron and doesn't hesitate to even blackmail the other Decepticons to keep them in line, he's a sort of enemy that Sunstreaker doesn't want to take for granted. On the other hand, he's the worst sort of enemy for the humans' Intel and security.
This time around though, NEST isn't stupid to leave their satelites without surveillance
Well, there you go! The main focus Mech cast. Optimus and Ironhide + many of the other bots do make their appearance too.
