Ocean's Series Cast (the Con Family) PART I

The Original Eleven.

Another post to the dedication of 10,500 hits on 'A Twin for a Twin'. =D

This post has all the details as to the cast of the Ocean series characters in how they relate to my fanfic. It will be updated as more information is revealed in the fic.

First and foremost starting with blood related family and next to the cast of the original Ocean crew who hold most importance to the fic. Enjoy!

Blood Related Family:

Robert Bobby Knight (Robert Bobby Caldwell)

Robert portrayed by Bob Einstein

An FBI agent that is called by Abagail Sponder (Willy Bank's right hand 'woman') to do some investigation on 'suspicious people' (Danny's crew) in the Bank Hotel & Casino. Little does she realize that the same FBI agent is Linus's father.

As a father, he tends to fuss over his son more than Linus wants, somewhat portraying a worried and protective parent. In Ocean's 13 he's shown to call Linus over and over either from Danny or Rusty and doesn't want his son to screw up on the job.

Notes on my fic:

In 'A Twin for a Twin' he's Skyler's uncle as well as his current legal guardian as his parents died in the 2007 Mission City incident. Being both an FBI agent and con man he's taken charge to make sure the twins could protect themselves. And because of his teachings, Skyler's perception is sharp and also thanks to Robert his nephew has some of his paranoid tendencies. His surname is modified to Knight in exchange that 'Caldwell' is his Con family name.

Molly Starr Knight (Molly Starr Caldwell)

Molly portrayed by Cherry Jones

A con artist in her own right Molly makes her appearance in Ocean's 12. She shows up because Danny's crew (especially her son) is in trouble because of their current cop of having the group arrested in jail. After, she successfully saves the crew from jail.

Scene from Ocean's 12:
Molly: I hope Danny and Rusty appreciate the job you did in a tight jam. 
I am proud of you.

Linus: Thanks.
Molly: We both are.

                   
Linus: You--? You told Dad?
Molly: I had to, sweetheart.
               
Linus: You told Dad?
Molly: We were on vacation. I'm sorry. (smirking)
                   
Linus: Great. Thanks. You're gonna be dining out on this one for months.

Notes on my fic:

In 'A Twin for a Twin' she (unlike in the movies) has a strategic place in the Interpol (although not specified what). Likes the job done professionally and appreciates when a job is well done. Although, she doesn't tolerate stupidity in the highest sense and won't hesitate to step in. Both twins would prefer to get on her good side than her bad one.

Linus Knight (Linus Caldwell)

Linus portrayed by Matt Damon.

Starts off as the 'rookie' of the group in the Ocean series, but eventually proves himself that his father agrees he's ready to play a part in his (Robert's) own con. Gets into trouble most of the time because of his rookie mistakes but learns from them quickly to make up for it.

Shows up in all the Ocean's series, eventually growing to be a better con artist and not just a pickpocket thief.

Out of the rest of the crew, Linus' gift is pickpocketing. He's probably the best there is as time and time again, he's easily nabbed something without the mark feeling he was there. Linus usually takes informant jobs as he's best of stealing anything that may prove important to the job.

Notes on my fic:

Linus is Skyler's eldest cousin in 'A Twin for a Twin'. While their age is pretty far apart they're close enough to be friends most of the time when they meet. Being the senior con artist to the twins, he serves as their pickpocket teacher being the best at it in the family. In the fic, he's also been called to be under Danny's con once more in Washington D.C.

Main Ocean's Series Cast:

Daniel Ocean

Daniel Ocean portrayed by George Clooney.

A seasoned con artist and thief, Daniel Ocean or known as Danny to his shills/accomplices. Has a great obsession on seeing things in a thieves' point of view that at times when he walks into a building all he sees is the angles to see how to get pass the security the illegal way. XP

Leader of the whole Ocean crew he sees all and makes sure all is according to plan. He usually comes in with the ideas to what the next target is, whether they are casinos, safes or other things the crew are to steal.

Has a brother relationship to Rusty (often seen speaking in their own 'language') and a student-mentor relationship to Reuben.

Mostly wise in his decisions and makes sure everyone's happy about it. Doesn't hesitate to get along with anyone if he's in for the target/mark (even with enemies but keeps a keen eye on them) to the point the people who were after him end up liking him.

Scene from Ocean's 13:

Willy Bank: This town might have changed, but not me. I know people highly invested in my survival, and they are people who really know how to hurt in ways you can't even imagine.

Daniel Ocean: Well, I know all the guys that you'd hire to come after me, and they like me better than you.

Notes on my fic:

In 'A Twin for a Twin' he's one of the main leaders of the con family the twins are in. Called 'Uncle D' for short, Danny is one of Steve's and Skyler's main mentors. For Skyler, he's also a personal poker mentor (mentioned at some point in the fic he had his ego crushed by both Danny and Rusty together before in poker training). Currently on another heist or con job which targets a government official said to be in Washington D.C.

Rusty Ryan

Rusty Ryan portrayed by Brad Pitt.

Con artist and thief, as well as Danny's right hand man. When Danny comes with the ideas, he then comes in to help with the plans so they work perfectly without a fault.

Rusty's position as the 'Ace Sharp' or detail man is crucial to the group as his attentiveness to detail is what makes the heists work.

Gets along with Danny like a brother, as they have been friends for a long time and under the same mentor, Reuben Tishkoff.

Has a thing for junk food (numerous of times seen eating junk food in most scenes), and somehow love the wrong type of woman. He gets into trouble in Ocean's 12 when he goes against his previous crush Isabela (which he did not realize back then she was a cop). However, in the end they make amends and by the credits of Ocean's 12 they're a couple. In Ocean's 13, he's seen with Danny often consulting about their love relationships (Danny with Tess and him with Isabela) during work.

Notes on my fic:
In 'A Twin for a Twin' Rusty is a role model to Skyler as it's his goal of becoming a seasoned detail man. Not only his role model but also Skyler's mentor for planning heists as well as for playing poker. To Steve also serves a main mentor to his specialty in analog and digital locks. A friend of the 'Caldwell family', as Taylor was a an informant in the demolitions Intel trade. During most of the fic, he's known to be with Danny on yet another heist to con on a person that messed with the 'family'.

Roman Nagel

Roman Nagel portrayed by Eddie Izzard.

A British engineer that's trusted by Danny to do the impossible. However, to Roman's resentment Rusty sends very sexy women to be his assistants which clearly distracts him from his work.

Expert in most technology and even making new created techs, Roman or usually called Nagel comes in Ocean's 12 as a addition to the group (although he's not officially one of them).

Later in Ocean's 13 he's welcomed to the group because of a super AI computer that's installed into the Bank Hotel that ironically is made by his old 'school mate' (with a tone of loathing). Beforehand, he thought it was impossible to beat, but with both Danny and Rustry's persuasion he figures out (much to his glee) on how to take it down.

Notes on my fic:
Skyler's and Steve's guru to the art of hacking as well as other tech devices and advancement. Very sarcastic and doesn't care of cursing in Bristish slang and talk tech that sometimes makes even Danny and Rusty frown having no idea what he says. Currently stationed in Salt Lake City in helping Danny's heist.

Reuben Tishkoff

Reuben portrayed by Elliot Gould.

A wealthy casino mogul who is the 'bank roll' to Ocean crew in their heists. Knows the ins and outs of most casino security as he's the man who created them. Having the most experience when it comes to casinos he's very well informed on how the property business works and how people try to con casinos.

Reuben is also the mentor of both Danny and Rusty as he's been with them during their younger days when he spotted them cheating (but according to him miserably succeeding). Very stern, rational, but will listen to his protégés if they have the explanations to the crazy ideas they have.

In Ocean's 13 he nearly dies because of getting ripped off by Willy Bank for the rights of the hotel (which was supposed to be a joint project). Eventually recovers and goes to Bank's hotel on Openning Day to see his protégés destroy Willy's casino and hotel leaving him bankrupt.

Notes on my fic:

Reuben's considered as the elderly by the twins. He's a sarcastic motivator than a mentor, but Reuben still proves to be a information center as he's full of experiences and has links in the wealthy circles. Currently in Las Vegas keeping an eye on his establishments. Has always supported Danny and Rusty by using his funds for heists and currently sending his support through electronic means than getting involved due to age.

Basher Tarr

Basher protrayed by Don Cheadle.

Named as the 'Basher' is the main explosives/demolition expert of Danny's crew. Either than demolitions, he can handle most engineering work and as well as basic hacking. Thinks demolition as an art and has a style.

He's very poetic when he wants to be (to the awkwardness of the others considering he's a person who deals with explosives) but all the same always does his work to the best and always manages to surprise the others with his ingenious ways of using materials and gadgets to either explode or help the crew in making the heist work.

Notes on my fic:

Mentioned numerous times for his 'poetic' and very 'graceful' habit even if he's handling explosives. Has a brother by the name of Franz in Memphis who is trigger happy and loud explosives and fire arms expert. One of Skyler's mentors in demolition work, although Skyler prefers to know how to a bomb works than using it himself (unless he has to). Positioned in Washington D.C. with most of Danny's original 11 crew.
